I feel like it has been forever since I posted a face of the day, I have been doing so many neutral eyes, I just didn't think they were post worthy. Today I went all out woth color, a purple smokey eyes, with turquoise lower liner, I really like the way this turned out. I then used a peachy blush and pink lipgloss. This week's product is eyeshadow from NYC, I'm really surprised these aren't talked about more. NYC has several different formats for their eyeshadow, and in my experience the quads and quints pretty much suck, but I do appreciate that those usually come with some kind of primer, drugstore eyeshadow primers have been a bit of an obsession for me lately. The NYC eyeshadows that I'm talking about this week are the duos. These duos are very inexpensive and totally awesome. Most of them come in matte finish and are coordinating bright colors. I do have a shimmering duo that I got around the holidays, it bugs me when companies put out limited edition products but this little duo of shimmering gold and white is very useful for highlighting or lid color, it can make a great eye look by itself if you are in a hurry. The matte duos are excellent quality and a great find as matte shadows can be hard to find at the drugstore, especially in such a rainbow of colors. The matte black in my black and red duo is probably one of the deepest blackest eyeshadows I own, when I want to use a powder eyeliner I always reach for it. So if you see these at your local drug or discount store pick some up, you will be glad you did.
This week's featured product is Wet n Wild eyeshadow, if you are looking for eyeshadow that is great quality for a great price you must have these. I would say they are the best eyeshadows in the drugstore. I have most of the permanent sets, unfortunately thet do have awesome limited edition shadows that seem to be hard to find. I love there matte shades, very creamy, and they have shimmery and metallic finishes that are awesome as well. These shadows are very pigmented so a little goes a long way, if you don't have any I would encourage you to get some and try them out. If you don't love it , well they are very inexpensive. Ok so this was supposed to go with my firecracker post, I wanted to do a look for independace day but I wasn't really feeling the red white and blue so I did an eye look using dark colors on the outside and sparkly colors closer to the center. This look reminds me of sparkling fireworks in the night sky, I used mostly Wet and Wild products on the eyes, Physicians Formula Happy Booster blush in pink, and Nyx matte lip cream in Sydney. I feel like the star of the show here is these big ass lashes, these are Nyx lashes I have never used Nyx lashes before and since I ordered them online didn't get a chance to see them ahead of time. These were so long they actually touched my eyebrows, so I had them bend more out then up, still I felt they were a bit much, but since my destination was the grocery store it was all good. Hi guys it seems like forever since I posted a face of the day, but my looks lately seem boring and uninspired. I really love green looks and this one was inspired by the SCOUSA decision against the doma act and if you didn't know its pride week. Instead of doing rainbow eyeshadow all week I decided to be more subtle and focus on one or two colors at a time. This green look was acheived with mostly Maybeline products on the eyes, Physicians Formula happy bronzer in light and Nyx matte lip cream in Tokyo, as always only drugstore products were used, feel free to contact me for a complete product breakdown. I have so many drugstore lemmings right now, I really want the Milani shadow eyes pencil in almond, I have all the others and this one alludes me, also I want to try some of the new Covergirl foundations and concealers, I have heard rumors there are some extra pale cool toned shades but I haven't seen them in the wild yet. I am loving the Nyx round lipsticks and I want more. The number one thing I have to try is all the new mascaras out there , OMG, I am such a mascara freak and Loreal, Covergirl, Maybelline and just about everybody has new ones out that promise big beautiful clump free lashes, and I am kind of obsessed with lashes, speaking of Ardell had put out some new lashes called lashlights that look very natural and very pretty.
