Today's look was quick and easy, I used warm gold and brown shadows from Physicians Formula and Wet n Wild, since I was in a hurry I used dark brown shadow instead of liner. Ok guys yep its another matte smoky eye. I was just so pleased with how my blending came out. Also I felt that my makeup looked fresh and summery, that may not be a real word, oops. I went with a pink blush and another Revlon lip butter, talk about your rediscovered favorite, this from a matte lip lover. These just seem perfect for the hot and miserable weather. Since I showed you a neutral look with green yesterday I wanted to show you a brighter look with green today. I used shades of green and silver. My eye makeup is Milani, Maybeline, and Physicians Formula. I kept the rest of the face neutral with a rosy blush and Revlon lip butter in cupcake, I love the formula of the Revlon lip butters, so moisturizing and comfortable. This week's featured product
is the Maybeline Color Tatoos. I absolutely love these, so creamy and extremely long lasting. I really love these as eyeshadow base, neutral or colorful they do such a great job I don't even need primer. Using a thin layer is key, too thick and you may get creasing. They can be used alone, they set and don't budge, but I like to add powder on top for a richer more complex look. Mostly these have a shimmery finish but there are some matte shades too. The only thing that I could complain about is Maybeline releases several limeted edition shades and I cannot always find them, my make-up hoarding self wants to have them all. My favorite shade is definitely tough as taupe, thankfully is is part of the permanent collection, although I do have several backups just in case it is ever discontinued. It is a matte shade, a cool almost greyish light brown, this product is the best thing I have ever used to fill in my sparse brows and give them shape. The cool shade is perfect for my skintone and sets to a natural finish. And my brows look great no matter how crazy my day or night gets. Today's look uses green but in a neutral way. Color can be a neutral if blended with neutrals. My husband's favorite color is green and I try to work that into my looks at least once a week. I used Maybeline and Physicians Formula eye makeup, a peachy cheek and pink lip. I had forgotten how much I like this lipstick, it's Maybeline glisten up pink, this matches my lip color almost exactly but adds a pretty shine without the stickiness of a gloss. Lately the weather here has been brutally hot so for face makeup I have been skipping the primer and just dusting translucent powder over my sunblock, I like how fresh and natural it looks, so if you have been dealing with crazy heat maby give it a try. I also included a nail of the week shot, I recently purged mt nail polish stash by about 75 percent and I have been much happier with it. I really like natural naild that are well maintained. Artificial nails are pretty gross in my opinion, and long nails are really disgusting to me, especially if they are jagged or all different lengths. You don't need to polish your nails, but maintaing them is easy and healthy and necessary. Well let me get off my soapbox here, I would like to know what you guys think about hand care and maintenance. Hey guys not sure if you all noticed much but I have been wearing the same hairstyle in a lot of my pictures lately. I have found loose waves to be my go to for warm weather days that I work. This style mimics my natural hair texture ( minus the frizz). So if I start glistening and my hair reverts to natural it should blend, also I find a headband to be not only cute but functional. It keeps my hair out of my face no matter what, and I do have a physically demanding job. If you want to try a headband that is great, just rember too small of a headband can give you headaches. Make sure yours is just right or don't buy it. Have a great day.
Ok so I know the rule about focusing on eyes or lips but never both. I wanted to do a cool color on my eyes since I wasn't really satisfied with the warm look I wore yesterday. Well I happened to be listening to my Pandora while I was getting ready and all my favorite 80s songs were coming on. I decided to just go for it and do a really bright look paying homage to my favorite decade. I used th WnW Blue had me at hello palate and my blue Milani shadow eyes pencil. I also got creative with some silver liner, not wild about this. I did glowing skin by using a translucent highlighter powder instead of my usual matte. I also chose to do bright pink lips with Milani lipstick in rose hip. I have been looking all over town for the shade rose adore in the new line but have been unable to locate it. Ok so orange makeup is supposed to be on trend for this summer. My original plan was to have a more punky corally look which probably would have looked better. Today's look played on tones of yellow and white gold, I kept the eyes soft by using bronzy gold liner, I think that I would like this better with black liner but maybe I'm just not used to seeing myself without a strong liner look. Today I did my eyes very neutral, I usually highlight my eyes and play down the other features of my face. I wanted to play up my lips today. This week I want to rave about the Milani shadow eyes jumbo eye pencils. I love using these as a base under powder shadows. These are also great on their own. They are very smooth and do not tug at your lids. Having them in a stick format allows you to use them easily as liners or shadow without even using brushes. These jumbo liners have terrific pigmentation and a metallic finish that really glows on the eyes. Milani recently released some limited edition neutral shades that include several with a matte finish, I cannot wait to get my hands on them.
